Update about Andy

Hello again Family and Friends,

Andy’s surgery went okay… A lot longer then any one had anticipated. We got to the hospital at 6:15am on 6/25. We expected it to be over with in 3 hours of him going in the OR. Andy ended up being in the OR for almost 6 hours. Dr. Richie said that his nerves were pinched so much worse that expected so they had to go extremely slow and very careful. Then they took him in to Recovery and we were told that it would be about an hour or so and we would be able to be with him again… almost 3 hours later the brought him in to his room. Andy had an extremely hard time waking up and they had to watch his breathing because he keep dropping in to the low 70’s (anything under 90 is not very good).

Dr. Richie said that everything had gone very well and he was happy at the turn out. He said that Andy should be able to get up and walk a bit that night… Andy was having extremely bad pains in his legs and was not able to get out of bed. We found out that it was because his nerves had been pinched so bad for so long and Dr. Richie had to “wake them back up”. Andy was able to get out of bad and stand next to his bed on Friday, but was still not able to was due to pain. Friday night Andy was in a lot of pain so we called Grandpa Grass and one of Andy’s best friends Jose to come over and give him a blessing. It was such an amazing blessing. ( I cried but remember I am a baby LOL)

By Saturday he was able to walk from his bed to the bathroom, but by the time he got to the bathroom (about 10 steps away) he was hurting so bad he was still not able to leave his room. The nurses and Dr. Richie decided that Andy would need to stay in the hospital a bit longer.

On Sunday morning 2 Brothers and 2 Sisters from the Hospital Branch came to give us the Sacrament. I have never had that happen before. It was such an amazing experience and the Spirit was so strong that I again cried… Andy was able to walk to the bathroom a lot better Sunday, but still not able to walk out of the room. So they decided that Monday morning about 10am he could go home! We were so excited to be able to go home, but very scared because he has still having a lot of pain.

Andy asked Jose to come and help him get in the house because we have stairs and he knew that he was going to need help getting up them. I asked my brother-in-law if he could come over and help out also. When we got home we had 4 guys at the house waiting to help him in the house! It was so great to see how much people cared and were there to help us out. Andy has been laying in his recliner ever since. He is able to get up to use the restroom, but has to have help. Andy’s mom Peggy is going to be staying with us during the week for about 3 weeks to help Andy out.

On Wednesday Andy started having pains in his calf. He called Dr. Richie as he was instructed to do when he was in the hospital. Dr. Richie told Andy that he needed to go to the nearest ER immediately and have them do an Ultrasound to see if he had a blood clot. We were very lucky to find out that he did not have a clot at this time, but that we needed to keep watching his legs for any signs of more pain, discoloring, swelling, for numbness.

Andy is doing very well; we thank everyone for praying for him and also coming to see him in the hospital. You guys made the long 5 day stay in the hospital better for the both of us. Andy would still like to have people come and visit him at home as he is not able to leave the house yet. If you would like to give him a call or text him that would be great also! Again thank you so very much for praying and please keep it up as he is still not out of the woods for clots and infections.

I got to give him hugs and kisses before they took him back… Mama Gras and I are just sitting here waiting for him to come out of the OR.  We have been told that he is doing good and the breathing tube went in well.

I love you baby.

We got to go on the PEAK family trip this past weekend. OMGosh it was so much fun! I love spending time with my family; we always stay up way late and play all kinds of games!

As Andy and I were driving to Grandmas house we saw this guy, I could not stop laughing at his racing gloves that he had on… LOL

We got to Grandmas and got the cars packed, when everyone got there (Marie and Kenn, Steven and his family and Andy and I) we all went to Grandma and Grandpa Greats grave site. I have not been there in almost 3 years:

We talked for hours and also played games until WAY late Friday night. We got to play Phase 10 Twist. I have never played it before and I am now hooked! Andy and I will buy that game. Then Saturday morning Andy and I went fishing. It was a lot of fun hanging out relaxing looking at the beautiful view:

After fishing we went back to the resort and got in our swim suits and went to the pool with my uncle, aunt and their kids. We were only at the pool for about 20ish min when they closed the pool because of thunder. We found my other Aunt and Uncle and stat and talked to them. My Uncles and cousins played Soccer and Horse Shoes:

We got back to the room and played games again until about midnight! Then Andy and I went up to the bed room where Kenn and Marie were. We all stayed up and chatted and hung out even later:

What a day

OMGosh, what a day today has already been…  I have some updates to my family …

  • My step mom had surgery on April 3ed; she had a lesion in her mouth. She had to have it removed, it was on her tongue. Everything went pretty well. My dad took her home so that she could rest.

About 2-3 hours later my dad had to take her to the ER because she had some bleeding and pain. The dr. and nurses were extremely worried because her tongue had swollen up extremely bad. They admitted her in to the hospital or observation over night.

The results came back about the biopsy and they found that it was cancer. They will have to do surgery again. It will be on the 24th. We are hoping that they will be able to get it all out this time and she will be okay.

  • My mom called me about 6:45am today… the first thing she said to me was “get your sister on the phone” I questioned her and she just told me to hurry… (The last time she did that is when we found out that my aunt had gone missing). Marie did not answer so I just talked to my mom.

She informed me that my Aunt Anita had been found. She was found in California yesterday.  Miles was arrested after a short foot pursuit. Anita was then arrested without problems in a motel in Vallejo.

Anita will be in California for up to 45 days, then she will go back to North Carolina. Anita has been able to talk to my Grandpa and also to her husband. As expected she is scared.

  • My mothers Father-In-Law is going to be having surgery today. He is going to have his left foot removed due to problems. I do not know all of the details. Please keep him in your prayers….
  • My last bit of news…. Andy was laid off yesterday. All 10 of the people that were in his training class back in February we all let go. They did not give him much info or details. So we are back to looking for a new job. If anyone hears of one PLEASE LET US KNOW!

Thank you to everyone that has prayed for my family and thank you to everyone that has put our names on the Temple Pray roles. When I get some more updates on each family member I will let you all know.

Vegas Babe Vegas Babe

We had so much fun in Vegas! We went to Vegas on Saturday and came home on Tuesday.  This was such a great get away. Andy and I both needed time away from the house and job searching.

On Friday night we went to a Basket ball game with Eric’s boys.

We had so much funwith the boys like we always do.  We went home and stated packing, we decided to go to be becasue we had to get up early to go to the AirPort.

We left the house about 6:15.Teresa drove us, then we went to my sisters to pick them up. When we got there Marie and Kenn brought out their stuff but then had to run back in 2 times. We got to the airport checked in and started going throught security. Andy has never been on a plane so it was so much fun seeing him and having him ask questions about what we needed to be doing.

As we were sitting waiting for the plane to come in we decided to take our first pictures of the trip!

When we got on the plane Andy and I were sitting in the back, Kenn and Marie we sitting in row 13 and Kristine was stitting in row 14.

Andy pulled out the camera and took some great videos of the take off…

Leaving Utah

and some good still shots….

When we got to the airport in Vegas there was such a funny sign, I dont know if I was to go in to get my bags or not…

We left the airport and went over to the car rental place. Kenn and Marie got in line to get a rental car. They got a Chrysler 300… it was so very nice. When we got in the radio was on and it was playing some hawaiian music. Kenn and Andy did the Hula… (click on the picture to see the video)

After we got the car, Kristine and Sue were in their car behind us,

On the way to the Hoover Dam Kenn and Andy were in the front, Maire and I were in the back…

We were able to take some amazing pictures!

As we wlooking at the water, Kramer found a lady to make eyes with… LOL

Here are some pictures of the Dam…

When we got to the condo Andy and Kenn started dancing around and acting like Kids, they were so funny! check out this video of Andy dancing

We went to the Stratosphere and all the kids but Andy, Nicole and I went on the rides… It was some much fun watching everyone.

Andy and I were so tired and ready to go to bed… We had been up since 5 AM and it was now almost midnight…

We sat up almost all night talking, it was so great to get to know Danielle, Nicole and Isaac.

The next morning we all layed around and just hung out. That evening we had a party for Kenn, Sue gave him a birthday card that sang the chicken dance… OMGosh it was so fun watching them do the dance…

This was one of the best trips I have taken!!! Love you all thank you so much for the fun times!!!

Andy had a great interview last Wednesday, He was told that they would get back to him Monday(2/2) or Tuesday(2/3). He called them on Friday to check in, they told him it would not be unit Monday(2/2) or Tuesday(2/3) that they would have any info for him. He then called them again on Monday (2/2) and they said that they were still working on his background check. So he called them again on Tuesday (2/3) and had to leave a message. Yesterday he forgot to call them. But today…. He got a call from a nice lady (i did not get her name) and she said that they would like to offer him the job. They went over the pay and the schedule, and everything was perfect! He will be working Monday through Friday 8-5 for training (about 3 weeks) then he will work any time form 7am -7pm!!!

Congrats Babe, I love you so much!!!!!

A message from my Great and Amazing Grandma

Thank you so much for sending this to me, it has really helped me to see that I need to just keep going, keep my head up and keep trying to get through each day.

A woman answered a knock at the door.  It was the minister.  She invited him in and they sat down.  The minister had bad news for her.  Her husband and son had just been killed in an auto accident.

The woman excused herself and left the room.  In a few minutes she came back with cups of tea for them both.  She gave him a cup of tea, sat down, and picked up her tea cup.  The minister said, “how can you be so calm when you have heard such awful news?”  She said, “my mother told me what to do if the worst thing in the world that you can imagine happens.  My mother said — You do whatever you would be doing if it had not happened.  When you visit we always have tea together.”

I love you Alaska Sue! You and Grandpa Joe have the best thoughts all the time!

Update about the game!

So we got to go to the game, It was so much fun. Here are the tickets!!!!!

Here is me as we got in the car to go to Sandy…

sspx00091This Andy and I as we are on the Trax…

This is a picture of the Temple and of a Church that we saw as we were on Trax…

It was so pretty riding on Trax, It took a long time to get to the ESA but it was so much fun and so worth the $9.00 that we had to pay ( so much better than paying for parking and fighting with traffic when leaving) We had fun!

We had to stand outside for a bit until the doors opened… it was kinda cold but we watched TV on our new Sprints phones.  When the doors opened we were given 2 ice scrapers, (we did not have one for the car so it was way cool) then we had to walk around to the opposite side of the building to get to our portal.

This is as we walked in to the seating area! Our seat is right behind the blue chairs at the bottom of the picture!

This is sitting in our seats as the players started to warm up.

We got to watch the player warm up, when ever they would walk to the tunnel it was like a swarm of bees flying to honey, People wanted autographs.

Alot of people keep sitting around us, but they all had to leave before the game started because the were other peoples seats.

There was a group of girls, I think that they were form a high school team, they were all dressed alike. It was kind cool to watch them.

The seats were kinda small and it hurt when we had to stand up and then sit down again. The players are so TALL, there was one (I don’t remember who) but I keep telling Andy that this guy was short and he told me that that guy was about 6’4”… now that’s not short at all… he is just not as tall as the other guys that are 6’6” to 6’9” LOL

As we got ready to do The Star-Spangled Banner, there was a young girl that sang, she did such a good job, I wish that I knew what her name was…

This is the only other picture that I took, I think it looks cool but it is hard to see what is going on.

After the game started I forgot all about taking pictures… So this is all the pictures I have of it! But it was so much fun, we would like to go again and have great seats like this!

Thank you Secret Santa!!!
